Remember these guys? I've been puttering around the St. Mark's/Soho area since I'm apartment/kitty-sitting around there and I found a bunch of those DIY nesting dolls on sale! I really liked making the Torchwood guys and have been debating about purchasing two sets so I can make the ten Doctors (I'm so sorry, Matt Smith, but since we don't know what your Doctor looks like just yet, you're the odd man out).

Thing is, I'd like to sell these dolls at some point, but I have no clue where to. Or for how much. Or if there'd be any interest. Suggestions? Ideas? Bueller?

Words cannot express the amount of fail that was Transformers 2. It’s my own fault, I know, for seeing it. I had heard how bad it was, but I always have to judge things for myself. But this time, maybe I should have just gone with the reviews. The race fail… wow.

Dear Universe,

I’d like to be able to fall asleep at a reasonable time. It’s been a week and I’ve more or less seen it getting light outside before I pass out. I’ve been forcing myself to wake up earlier, hoping it’ll make me tired, but noooooooo. That never works out.

I leave for CA a week from tomorrow, but suddenly all my spare time has disappeared. I’ll be apartment/kitty-sitting for lovely gaminette starting this Friday, so I need to prepare for that. Theodore needs CS3 installed so I can continue drawing things while I’m there. And I have Very Important Movies to attend, like Public Enemies next week before I leave so macbeemer won’t kill me. Not to mention Transformers tomorrow night *cough cough*

Also, what a fucking earworm this song is. I played it on repeat for a couple of hours yesterday.

So, as quite a few of my LJ pals are aware, it’s been raining endlessly for a couple of weeks now here in the good ol’ NYC area. It’s disgusting. Today would be that same sort of day, so I chose to stay in and watch really awesomely bad 90s movies.

I’ve gone down to one of the local bodegas to grab something to eat or drink twice now. I’m not going to lie to you guys, I’m quite frumpy right now. Sweatshirt, flippies, no makeup, and my hair hasn’t been washed. I’m hot, y’all. Real smokin’ hot. And I mentioned it was raining, yes?

So the last thing I want to hear are cat calls from cars driving past and dudes muttering as I walk past “HEY BABY, I LIKE WHAT I SEE.”

Four times today. SERIOUSLY. I have been outside a grand total of fifteen minutes tops. I told the last guy to fuck off.

A word of advice to my male LJ friends. I’m sure you’re all fine upstanding members of society, but please pass a memo around to the rest of your sex:

Thank you all for you condolences concerning my aunt. From my understanding, it seems like there’s going to be a small cocktail thing in Chicago for her friends that my mom will host, then there’ll eventually be a family service in Connecticut so my grandma and her husband don’t travel anywhere.

Anyway, I don’t want to see anything sad as my recent post, so here’s that picture meme finally!

For those of you who have both me and lostsailors as pals, you may have already read that our Aunt Anne passed away this morning from her less-than-a-year battle with cancer in her esophagus.

My mom called to let me know while I was in the women’s locker room at the gym. This wasn’t a huge surprise. I knew it was going to happen any day now, and I prepared myself every time my phone rang and “Mom” showed up on the caller ID. Her treatment was killing her faster than the actual disease itself and the past few days, she’d been heavily sedated and just not there. My mom was with her, holding her hand as she went. She said it was extremely peaceful and she wasn’t in pain at all. I drew a card for her birthday, which was last Monday, and I’m happy that she was able to see it in time. I fretted for days about what to write in it, even though I knew it didn’t matter, she’d love it regardless.

Anyway, if there is anything beyond this life in the Universe, I’m quite sure my aunt is there, and she's exploring the heck out of it.

Rest in peace, Aunt Anne. I love you.

Sorry for being a grump the other night concerning Ashes to Ashes. Like I said, now that I've watched it, I am much happier!

I had a fucking blast this weekend! It was absolutely gorgeous and the Universe decided that it wanted me to spend lots of money. On Saturday, I went to MoCCA with basalt and doven and OMG comic art heaven! Tons of awesome indy artists selling prints and books and comics and I blew all my cash on prints to decorate my teeny room with. I think there’s going to have to be some spillage over into the living room once I find some frames for these suckers. I ran into folks from DWNY and said hello to hopelarson on behalf of lostsailors and macbeemer. Afterwards, we chilled in Madison Square Park and enjoyed basking in the sun.

THEN. We purchased our tickets for California! MY CA HOMESLICES, I’ll be home from July 2nd till the 14th. basalt will be there with me the full time and doven will be coming in later on. Disney-adventuring will be occurring most definitely, but in the latter half of the trip so doven can join us.. You have NO idea how excited I am about relaxing by the pool.

On Sunday, basalt, doven and I met up with valmont_god in Brooklyn - BROOKLYN! - to attend the Renegade Craft Fair. It was like having all of Etsy at my fingertips. I don’t have enough wall space for all the stuff I bought this weekend. Note: Squidies, octopi and mustaches are Very Popular, apparently. We then bought delicious pulled pork sandwiches and watched macbeemer’s fine handiwork on the Tonys (Tony… tony… tony…) at valmont_god’s sweet pad.

Then I got home late and found out that ASHES TO ASHES HAS ANOTHER SEASON. WIN.

A most satisfactory weekend, I think. And thanks to all who participated in this post. You can keep requesting photos if you’d like, I’m starting to put stuff together.

In other news, I watched the first season of Sarah Connor Chronicles. Holy crap, why was that show canceled and Dollhouse is still on? It's a shame I hear T4 is awful. I got almost caught for nothing!

I was going to rant about a post I stumbled upon where someone complained about fandom's use of a name referring to a certain character I posted a drawing of a couple of days ago, but I actually don't really care enough anymore. Thanks to this hiatus, my fannishness of Doctor Who has faded to "I'm just watching this for funsies." Hopefully when S5 starts up, I'll be giddy again.
